Amy Galper, the co-founder of the New York Institute of Aromatic Studies, explains that this oil is extracted from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree, which is found in Australia. In order to make eucalyptus essential oil, the leaves of the tree are dried, crushed, and distilled. The prime ingredient in eucalyptus oil is cineole or eucalyptol. This ingredient is famous for its various properties like being an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and aromatic which is also the main reason for it to be used as a natural medicine for wounds, colds, infections, etc.

We all know that eucalyptus oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, but it also possesses a natural cooling ingredient, which makes it an effective remedy against sunburn. Along with that, the antibacterial properties present in this essential oil prevent the skin from contracting a further infection.
How to use against a sunburn:
Take a small spray bottle and fill it with purified water. Mix two to four drops of eucalyptus oil along with a spoonful of aloe vera gel in this water. Shake the bottle well and spray it on the affected skin for relief.

Bad breath is usually caused due to the bacteria present on the teeth. With eucalyptus oil, that is known for its antimicrobial properties, people can get rid of their bad breath and use it as a natural mouthwash.
How to use against bad breath:
Just add a drop or two of eucalyptus oil to water. Then, gargle, and spit it out. However, you should be careful while gargling it as eucalyptus oil is not recommended for ingesting.

The congestion caused due to sinus can become very bothersome very quickly. The easiest way to deal with this is steam inhalation as it allows the essential oil to reach the mucous membranes and clear them up relieving the person of congestion and mucus. Be careful not to use too much eucalyptus oil though.
How to use against sinus:
Get a bowl and fill it with steaming hot water. Add a drop or two of eucalyptus oil to the bowl of water. Then, take a towel and place it over your head while keeping your head at an arm’s length from the bowl. You can close your eyes and continue to inhale the steam deeply for five to ten minutes.

Dandruff can be a reason for itchy scalp and many other such annoyances but eucalyptus oil that possesses anti-fungal components can fight against the most common cause of dandruff which is the yeast-like fungus Malassezia.
How to use against dandruff:
Take two to four drops of eucalyptus oil and add it to one to two tablespoons of coconut oil. Take this mixture and apply it to your scalp. Wash it away after letting it sit for twenty minutes.
