WhatsApp Working on a Feature that Allows Users to Exchange High-Resolution Videos

There’s no denying that WhatsApp is rolling out new features time and again for its users to make them hook to the app. The Facebook-owned app is coming up with unique features to improve user experience. According to the report, WhatsApp’s latest feature would give users an option to select the quality of the video before sending it to their contacts. WhatsApp has certain restrictions when it comes to sending videos in high-quality but now with the launch of this feature users will soon be able to exchange high-resolution videos.

The videos that are in high resolution are frequently compressed and sent as a document over WhatsApp. This is the reason why messaging applications that are RCS-enabled perform better than WhatsApp because it allows users to send high-quality videos. Soon, WhatsApp is solving this problem by allowing users to send high-resolution videos. The instant messaging service is currently testing this feature in an Android app for beta users that allows users to choose the video quality before sharing it with their friends and family.

WaBetaInfo reports that WhatsApp users will be given three options to choose from before sharing the video with their contacts. The users will be able to choose between an ‘Auto Mode’, a ‘Best Quality Mode’, and a ‘Data Saver Mode’ that will decide the quality of the video clips that you share.

  • The first alternative is an ‘Auto Mode’ that allows WhatsApp to identify the optimum compression technique for particular videos automatically.
  • The second mode which is available to the customers is the ‘Best Quality Mode’. As the name suggests, when the user clicks on this option WhatsApp will send the video in the highest quality available. This means that if your video is shot in high quality then WhatsApp will also deliver the video in the same format without compromising the quality.
  • The third available option to the customers is the ‘Data Saver Mode’ that lets WhatsApp compress the videos before sending them to your contacts. This feature is currently under development according to WhatsApp features tracker. The users will be able to access this feature in the future update.

WhatsApp is also working on a new feature called real-time waveforms in voice communications. When you’ll be recording a new voice message, the users will be able to see real-time waveforms. WhatsApp allows the waveforms for voice communications when recording an audio message. This feature is found in Android’s beta version.
